The Crew
The Admiral (SWMBO)
Tracy, who voluntarily joined me on this
crazy expedition has been by my side for the past 20 years! More beautiful than the day I meet her! She’s already been a full time liveaboard,
surviving 4 Canadian winters and mother to 2 great kids! Not bad for the first 20 years together! She’s on board with this trip to see
the Bahamas and escape winter for a year.
This might be the first time in a long time that she’ll not be able to
say she’s cold all the time!! On the
whole a win-win for the Captain! Tracy
gets to spend a winter warm, and I get to see her in more beach wear!!
The Captain ( the crazy one)
Yes that’s me (identity protected due to thinking up
this whole crazy idea!), what can I
say. I bought my first boat while in
University. I always thought it was more
logical to own a boat than to buy a car!
Doesn’t everyone do that?
I’m a glutton for punishment; every boat I’ve bought has been a project in one form or another. I’m a tinkerer by nature so it’s gonna get torn apart at some point so why not start there! This Morgan is now my 4th full size boat. No graduating from Dinghies for this sailor, the boats were 30ft plywood ketch, 34ft Grampian, 22ft Edel and now 41ft Morgan Out Island, in that order.

We were liveaboards for a few years between 1998 and 2002 (in Toronto) and loved
the lifestyle! We mostly got off the boat to try to act “normal” and have kids
(well at least he kids turned out OK!)
The Crew (Swab and
Jellybean)
The boat cats!
What can we say about the cats, they sleep, eat, poop and generally claw that the things we don’t want them to while avoiding the scratching post we bought them!!!
...If anyone is up for this adventure/challenge this Captain and crew are!! Looking forward to this blog being a very exciting read as they launch off on their big sail trip.
